Fantastic! “Moral Traditions” is a concise introduction to comparative religious ethics of the world. This book is short, informative, and very readable. It makes an ideal companion text – possibly even a good primary text – for the introduction of major world religions in the ethical viewpoint. Some books this size are too light and just blather. Not this one. This I found to be compactly rich and engaging. There are a few issues I have with it – that Loa-Tzu is the founder of Daoism, for example, but otherwise it seemed accurate. As a teacher of world religions myself I certainly recommend this book for your own interests or as a college text. (The text covers an intro theory of ethics, Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish, Christian, and Muslim traditions, as well as Chinese Religions, an a few brief words on Sikhism, Jainism, Shinto and Bahai).

This was one of two textbooks in an undergraduate course in religious studies that was chosen to complement the course. I found that this book will benefit anyone regardless of what religious tradition they adhere to. It is as stated, an introduction and not a comprehensive study but it is well written for this purpose.

A little apologetic on some of the inherent discrimintation present in many of the world's religions, but a great overview to overcome "religious illiteracy."

I would recommend this book. It is a good review of our world's religions and moral issues. I received it in good condition.

Easy to read and understand. A great entry level book for a World Religions and Ethics!
